Selena Gomez to Star in Movie with James Franco

Selena Gomez is in talks to star in a movie with James Franco, along with a few other highly recognizable names. Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts are in line to be her co-stars, too.

According to Hollywood Life, the film will be called Spring Breakers, and involves a cast of characters who rob a restaurant in order to fund their spring break adventures. Selena's role will be that of a religious girl who isn't really much of a thrill seeker at all. The rest of the gang—now they're all about seeking thrills.

Spring Breakers has a twist, and that's where James Franco comes in. He's a rapper and a drug dealer who winds up bailing the young ladies out of jail when they rob the restaurant. In exchange for bailing them out, he offers to make it worth their while to kill his arch-rival.

This doesn't sound like the kind of film that Selena Gomez has starred in before, but she's 19 now, and is likely stepping outside of her comfort zone and finding her niche as an actor. The Wizards of Waverly Place star has typically starred in much lighter films.

Emma Roberts is slated to star opposite Selena Gomez—if all contracts get signed as expected—and she is reportedly the kind of girl in the film who "feeds off danger." It's uncertain thus far as to what Vanessa Hudgens's role will be in the film.
